Fainting Goats are a strange breed of goats that faint when startled, people might think breeding fainting goats will be a lot tougher than breeding normal goats but it’s not much different. Fainting goats are built quite differently to normal goats and are a lot more muscular. Not much of a difference in approach needs to be taken when breeding fainting goats; you have to take just that extra special care.
People will breed fainting goats to increase herds or for their meat. Start with a small herd of fainting goats because the goats are very social. Build fences for the goats; this will give them something to lean on when fainting and help them control it.
Leave the goats as a herd for a year; this will give them a chance to breed naturally. The female will have a heat cycle around every 3 weeks, which will last from 1 to 3 days. Not very long so don’t startle the goats to prevent them from fainting.
The good thing with a fainting goat mother is that they require no help from you. So wait about 150 days for the gestation period to pass. Fainting goats usually have twins, but don’t be surprised if they produce triplets or quadruplets.
Take special care of the new born fainting goats, they will grow and learn the way of staying upright when fainting. Feed them about 1cup of goat feed per day. Try to keep the goats away from loud noises to prevent injuries from falls.
